Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith has confirmed, despite only being in the early discussion phase, the vaccine roll-out could be administered in schools as early as term four this year.

The Canberra Times reports while the term four start is possible, end-of-year exam considerations may see school vaccinations begin in term one next year.

Currently only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for children aged 12 and over.
