Liberals appear to backtrack on pledge to abolish stamp duty

In announcing a promise to introduce a $25,000 discount on land for first home buyers, the Canberra Liberals appear to have backtracked on their commitment to abolish stamp duty.

ACT Liberal leader Alistair Coe has implied the first home buyers discount would be in addition to current stamp duty concessions available.

This is despite released election material and google advertisements pledging to abolish stamp duty by the Liberals
