Emergency Services and Police Asked R U OK?

Category: Capital Radio News

An are you okay campaign has been launched locally for Emergency Services and Police.
It was developed in response to a nationwide study from Beyond Blue, which found police and emergency service personnel report suicidal thoughts more than twice as often as adults in the general population.
Emergency Services and Police Minister Mick Gentleman says it's about giving resources to our men and women in these services.
"Our frontline people see some terrible trauma in their workforce and of course some incredible situations, and they work incredibly hard for people in that situation," Gentleman said.
The campaign will include resources that will help break the stigma associated with talking about mental health.
You can call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
