Weekend bus services to be cut temporarily

Category: Capital Radio News

New incentives for bus drivers to work weekends could be on the way, as the ACT Government attempts to fix its embattled transport network.

The newly extended network has seen thousands of cancellations since it began in April,- with few drivers volunteering to work weekends.

The government now says it wants to alter the bus drivers' enterprise agreement by instituting weekend rosters and new perks for drivers who fill the extra shifts.

The frequency of weekend services will be cut temporarily, with a new bus timetable set to be released on September 28.
