Canberra restaurant fined for dumping waste

Category: Capital Radio News

A Canberra restaurant has been fined 875 dollars for dumping oil and grease down a storm water drain.

The Environment Protection Authority has issued the fine after the business in Garema Place was caught disposing of the waste in a way which can pollute our waterways and result in dying fish and algae overgrowth.

Members of the public can play their part in protecting the environment by reporting pollution to the EPA via Access Canberra on 13 22 81.
