Dust storm paints Canberra orange

Category: Capital Radio News

Strong winds combined with dust from western NSW coated Canberra in orange.

There was a severe fire danger warning in place, followed by a health warning from breathing the dust.

At it's peak more than 6000 people were without power, with traffic lights not working and causing major delays.

This morning about 90 customers remain without power, the majority in Spence and Curtin.

The ACT SES received 128 requests for assistance yesterday, mainly for roof damage, fallen power lines and trees on the road.
